Weekend Recap

This weekend, Mr.D and I went to Emerald Lake Lodge which is located in Field, British Columbia and it was gorgeous! It was sunny and close to zero degrees all weekend, except for at night.

We left on Friday night and after a few forgotten things (not saying who forgot them ;) ) we arrived at Emerald Lake around 7:30pm. Because the busy season is during the summer for the lodge, we had no problems getting a shuttle and checking in quickly. We didn't do much that night, just checked out the lodge and sat in the hot tub for a while.

On Saturday, we decided to try cross country skiing which neither of us had done before. It was fun, but lots of work! We did a loop that took us across the lake and around a trail that was about 4km long. The last part of the trail was best as it was all downhill and you just got to sit back and enough it. Let me just say, it is REALLY hard to slow yourself down when you are on cross country ski's and are in the tracks! I bailed really hard and have a huge bruise on my butt now! Later that night, we went out for our "engagiversary" dinner, which was delicious. The resort did not have TV's in the room and it was nice to be disconnected from everything for even just two days.

On Sunday, we enjoyed breakfast and then headed home around 11am. The rest of the day was spent rearranging our house because last week Mr.D decided to buy a new 42inch TV.

The beautiful scenery

It was a fabulous weekend and I am sad to return to reality tomorrow!

How was your weekend? What did you do?

  1. Oh wow! What an amazing time, reality would definitely pale in comparison with all that beauty.

Big TV's included, of course ;)
