{weekend recap}

Oh boy, what a weekend we had! I never knew how much energy one little puppy had!

On Thursday, we made the 3 hour drive to pick Harley up. He definitely did not like us taking him from his mom as he whined for the first half of the trip home. Once he realized that he is staying with us, he calmed down a bit. We actually only got up once with him Thursday night, which really surprised us!

Friday was a pretty low key day. We were both getting used to each other and Harley figuring out stuff around the house. Friday night was another good sleep night, I think we got up twice, but he let us sleep in until 7:45am which was appreciated.

Saturday was low key day yet again. This puppy thing is a lot of work! We ran out to get some food, a baby gate and other puppy essentials. Mr. Harley is definitely an attention whore!! Haha. Later that night, one of Mr.D’s co-workers came over for dinner. It was nice to have someone else to play with Harley for a bit so we could get supper going. Saturday night was his first night sleeping locked in his crate and there was relatively no whining. He got up a few more times that night, but I was expecting him to cry all through the night.

It’s definitely been a BIG change having Harley as we are constantly watching him to make sure he doesn’t pee in the house. Luckily, he has the pooping thing down as he knows to go outside only. Ok, I’ll shut up with the puppy talk and show you some more pictures Smile

Happy Monday everyone!

  1. He is so cute! Dogs do sound like alot of work, but hopefully he'll be potty trained soon! :)

  2. I'm glad it's going so well! He is adorable! :)

  3. That's why getting a dog before having a kid is such a good idea ;) We started with a cat, and now that we can handle that responsibility we're ready for a dog (next year when we move!) and THEN we'll be ready for kids. In like 8 years! Hehe :)

    I love Harley, he is so freaking cute!!! Are you planning on running with him when he gets older?? I should send you a Runners World article about running with your dogs and training them to be running partners. It's very interesting!

  4. He is just precious, absolutely adorable! Congrats on the new addition!

  5. He is SO precious!!! I'm glad he's adjusting well to his new home!! :)

  6. Aww, sweet baby!

    Sounds like he's getting used to sleeping through the night pretty quickly. He's adorable!
