Dear running….

Dear running,

For the past five solids months, we have met 3-4 times per week without fail. You have shown me that I am stronger than I could ever imagine and yet you never fail to show me that I still have a long way to go. You have helped me to lose those last pounds and make my legs leaner. You have made me sweat, made me hurt and made me wonder why the hell I keep coming back to you! There is something I have to tell you though…as much as I love you and like you being in my life, I have to take a little break from you.

Sorry running, but I am going to cheat on you with cycling and swimming for a couple of weeks. I promise I will still visit you, but it might just not be as much.

Let’s make a deal….if I come back to you and still give you love while loving cycling and swimming, will you please let me come back to you where we left off? I might even spend extra time foam rolling and stretching if you promise to make my return to you easy.

  8. Aww I totally know what you mean about needing a break from running. I do that periodically too. I'll have a month where I only run 15 miles or so. I think it is a good thing to take a break every once in a while! It helps prevent getting burned out! It sounds like you have some fun things planned for your running hiatus! I can't wait to hear about your new adventures.
