These are my confessions {V15}

I haven't done a confessions post in a while, so I thought I would do one today.  You can find my previous confessions here:

Too many hair products
Shaving my big toes
Must make the bed
Random chin hair

Zero patience

Small number of friends

No undies
Silly crushes
Children's toothbrush
Picky eater
Dislike for country music
First kiss
Not using the dishwasher

I confess...that sometimes I think about wanting to do a bikini body building contest. I know, it's super random! But then I start thinking about how much work it would take and how much good {aka bad} food that I would have to give up in order to get my body that way and then I think it might just not be worth it.

This is what I am referring to:

NOT this:

So, am I totally crazy?!

  1. You are crazy! haha. Kidding -I did think about it before but then realized the food thing too and I love my carbs WAY too much.

  2. I have a couple friends who have done them and it made me have the urge to as well but 1 - I like food too much and 2 - they said how hard it was on your body afterwards, how hard it was to control your weight after, etc.

  3. Minus the fake boobs right?

Since all you get to eat is plain chicken breasts and broccoli, you're definitely crazy. I think preparing for something like that would be pure misery. No salt, no sugar, no fat...bleh.

  4. i just like carbs WAY too much for this hahaha

  5. M's cousin looked like picture 2... not as extreme, but not attractive! But picture number 1 doesn't look bad at all!!

  6. They actually do one of these in FSJ every year and I covered it for the paper there a few years ago. Diet is actually completely dependent on different body types. The woman I talked to (who owns the gym up there, runs the competition and is actually one of the top 5 women in Canada when it comes to fitness competitions) said that she has some girls training for it that can eat cake and other junk food from time to time and others that have to COMPLETELY cut it out. Some of them have to do an hour plus of cardio a day to prepare and others don't have to do any. I also interviewed a really inspiring woman who lost 50 pounds training for the competition!

Anyways, it's definitely something I've thought about too so you're not alone. I think the dedication and training would be awesome, just not sure I could hack the diet!

  7. I've toyed with the idea in the past as well but I think I would be so unhappy not being able to go out and enjoy dinner with friends, etc. It would be a HUGE lifestyle change. However I know lots of friends that have done it, and are in the process of training for comps right now and they are doing and looking fabulous!

Instead of doing something like that for vanity, I've decided to work towards the Crossfit Open one year instead.

  8. I can't imagine doing that. Just because I'm not a huge fan of showing off my body, even just at the beach. And that girl totally has fake boobs Leigh. Would you get some?

  9. Thanks for stopping by my blog!! And thanks for the motivation. I'm more sore than I've been in years. I feel muscles in my back I didn't even know I had! But thanks for the inspiration on your blog!

  10. LOL! That last picture has got to be photoshopped. Women do not have enough testosterone to get that big. That is...unless she used to be a man. And is on steroids.

  11. I have an acquaintance who does those competitions... To each their own, but some of the pictures she posts on facebook are, well, interesting... I mean, I have to hand it to her for looking absolutely amazing, but she almost looks scary in some of the photos due to her extreme fitness level and the amount of tanning she does... I could never commit to her diet either!! But again, she does look amazing, even after having a baby!

  12. Your not crazy. If your crazy then so am I because I did one. I will say this, if you have a true desire to do it, then you should do it. I wanted to do it to show myself what I was capable of. I had cheat meals once a week until the last month with dessert. Only the last few weeks were really hard. It was an awesome accomplishment that I'm proud of!

  13. You are so not crazy! I have thought about it a couple times but then I am never sure I have the nerve too.

  14. Not crazy at all. Most people have weird misconceptions about the sport and think it's all about deprivation and changing your whole life to revolve around the gym. It's quite empowering to reach that level of physical fitness and see the results of 12 weeks of hard work. My best friend has been competing for 2 years and takes me with her for hair and makeup most of the time so I know first hand what she and most other bikini competitors go through before a competition. If you want info, advice, or to run ideas by anyone, I can get you in contact with my friend. She's worked with two different teams who had radically different training philosophies, diet plans and advice, and she's dealt with the ups and downs of the sport. It's hard but if it's something you want to do, why not give it a try?

  15. That first lady is hot, the 2nd is scary!! You could do it but don't get scary ok??
