Five on Friday

{one} thanks for all of your comments on my post yesterday. I'm glad that I'm not the only one that has things that grinds my gears about social media. Funny enough, some of the things I had never noticed or none about before.

{two} we've watched a ridiculous amount of Friday Night Lights this week. Netflix only gives you 15 seconds to decide if you are doing something with your life so one episode turns to three or four, haha.

{three} we have absolutely nothing planned for this weekend. Well, besides going for my long run and making some Valentine sugar cookies - as requested by Mr.D

{four} I've been thinking about getting highlights for the first time in two years. I'd love to be blonde again, but at the same time not colouring my hair saves so much money. What should I do?

{five} hope you have a fabulous weekend everyone!

  1. Loved your post yesterday, same thing annoy me - also when people post "New Post" on Twitter ten times a day ;)
I always like to go lighter in the summer, and this summer I might go a tad lighter than usual, tired of dark hair a bit.

  2. I feel the same way about highlights. I also HATE the up keep. I've finally gotten to the point that if I got a haircut, all my blonde would be gone and I am going to try to love it for a year without any color in it. I say wait until the summer to get highlights again if you choose to do it :)

  4. I've been thinking of colouring my hair for awhile but you're so right, not doing it saves SO MUCH money! However, it would also be nice for spring. I don't know what to tell you -- it's fun to treat yourself! If I wasn't saving every extra cent I have for Ireland I would probably do it!

We are hoping to go to Vancouver this weekend but we woke up to snow this morning (but now the roads look good) so it's possible that won't work out so then I will probably do the same ole' same ole'. Haha. But it's a long weekend in BC, which I'm VERY excited for!

  5. If you do get highlights, ask your stylist to just put tiny pieces around your face and under the top layer of your bangs, in a warm honey color, to warm up everything. Since you won't be highlighting the top of your head, you won't need to worry about frequent touch ups. I'm sure with it short you don't wear it pulled back often, so you won't notice outgrowth. The honey color (versus lighter blonde) won't be obvious, because it's what your hair would naturally lighten to if you were in the sun a lot.

  7. I totally agreed with your social media post, although I do link back to older posts :/ I will work on that though lol. I stopped getting highlights because my hair grows SO fast that my roots are showing (seriously) within 2 weeks so I stick to my natural color. They look so nice though!

  8. I so wish I did not have to color my hair... but I have so many grays that it's not an option. If I could avoid it, I would because it is expensive. But highlights are fun!

I have never seen Friday Night Lights but when I was in Austin this weekend we drove by the field where much of it is filmed I guess. I have heard it's a good show. I don't have netflix so never get into these shows but have heard great things about them!
