Five on Friday

{one} Happy Friday everyone! This started out super busy at work and then me not wanting to be there at all. Ever have one of those weeks? So glad it's Friday!

{two} Happy Thanksgiving to my Canadian friends! We are heading to spend time with Mr.D's family and of course stuff ourselves silly. So excited for stuffing.

{three} the other night, we made this recipe for chicken avocado parm that Lindsey had on her blog. We have never actually made chicken parm and this recipe was a keeper! So good. I looked forward to lunch the next day :)

{four} I have been trying to debate if I want to get maternity pictures done. For the mama's out there, did you get them done? If you didn't, do you regret it now? I know that I want newborn pictures for sure, but just not sure I want to spend the money on both. Call me cheap :)

{five} have a great weekend everyone!

  1. Have a great Thanksgiving weekend!

I just had my mom take some photos, nothing elaborate. I don't feel like I missed out not getting a real maternity session.

  2. My best friend did a maternity + newborn photo package. She was also really torn on doing maternity photos but decided to and I think she's glad she did! She was about 34 weeks when she got hers done and they turned out amazing. Like she said she will probably never get them done again and it's nice to have some nice professional photos of your first pregnancy :) Like traveling, I think money spent on professional photos is always good money spent because you will have them forever!

Hope you have an awesome Thanksgiving weekend!!

  3. Happy Thanksgiving! We chatted about photos last night so I won't repeat my thoughts ;) Glad you liked that recipe! It is a favourtie here too :)

  4. My husband took some. They turned out awesome. Save your cash on family photos with your babe in my opinion.

  5. Oh that chicken parm recipe looks good!

I am so happy I did maternity photos both times. They still hang in each child's room. Definitely worth the money IMO. I know a great photographer ;) I had bare belly photos taken with Audrey but not with Leo and I didn't miss them the 2nd time around.
If you don't want to spend a lot, try to find a groupon or a less experienced photographer who is building her portfolio.

  6. I will have to check out that chicken parm recipe - I am always looking for new things to make!

I hope you have a wonderful Thanksgiving weekend! Enjoy the stuffing - that is my favorite, too and my mom is so good about making a little gluten free one for me!

  7. Have a great weekend. I love my mat photos. I have them up in Ds nursery. I think all photos are worth the $$ but I'm just obsessed with photos. :)

  8. I am doing photos in 2 weeks, will be about 34 weeks then. I think itll be worth it :) Have a great weekend girlie

  9. I'm 38.5 weeks and no maternity photos for me! At least nothing professional. My reasons:
    1) There is an amazing photographer in my area and I knew I could only afford one type of session from her and I chose newborn.
    2) I think that I would much rather look at photos of my newborn baby rather than pregnant me anyday. My photographer is also doing parents + newborn shots which I know I'll prefer over dad-and-pregnant-mom photos.
    3) I plan to have a few kids and don't want to set the bar unreasonably high (also why I don't plan to do professional milestone photos). I think newborn pics for each kid plus an annual family session is reasonable.

That's not to say I don't love looking at maternity photos though. ;)

    Happy Thanksgiving!

  10. Avocado Chicken parm looks interesting... might have to try it out. Happy Thanksgiving! Enjoy your time spent with family and food!

  11. I hope you had a great Thanksgiving with your family and you ate a lot of tiny meals :)
