Five on Friday

{one} happy Friday everyone! So ready for the weekend and for some time away from work.

{two} the weather has been gorgeous here lately! I took advantage of it and went for a walk at lunch yesterday. It was super sunny, but so windy! I'll take it because it beats snow any day.

{three} for the mama's out there- what are your must have's that you registered for? I'm starting to make our registry and don't want to miss anything important. We are new to all of this so any input is appreciated!

{four}  If you are Canadian blogger and want to join in the Christmas blog swap, don't forget to sign up here.

{five} have a great weekend everyone!

  1. I think my nursing pillow was the best thing I registered for! It was so much more comfortable to nurse with than without one. And my gliding chair. Nursing pillow + glider = Falling asleep while nursing.

I'll also recommend trying out baby carriers and/or wraps before registering for one, if you plan on using one. I thought I'd like using a wrap, but as it turns out, it's complicated, takes forever to put together and I regret registering for it.

  2. I was just thinking this morning how nice October has been. I would be more than happy if it stuck around for a bit.

  3. Okay ready for my must haves?! Lol, I have done a few posts but these are my TOP ones ;) Nursing pillow, burp cloths, swaddle/sleep sack, muslin blankets, Wubbanub, a swing, LOTS of wipes, bottle drying rack, video monitor, Angel Baby Bottom Balm, car mirror to see baby... I am sure there is more but those are the ones that came to mind first!

  4. The biggest must haves that I would recommend to you are linens such as: crib sheets, swaddlers, tons of receiving blankets, etc. It's so nice to always have a back up and or extras on hand.

  5. We have had beautiful weather here as well! I hope that it sticks around as I am not ready for cold, snowy weather!

    Have a wonderful weekend!!

  6. I highly recommend the Posh 'n' Hush nursing pillow - it's big and more L shaped than C shaped. The cover it comes with it plush and they come in pretty patterns. I no longer use mine while nursing, but now have it on the floor incase my son topples over when he's sitting and playing. Receiving blankets - lots of them. Personally, I hated burp cloths, they were too small and the spit up often dribbled down off of them. I just used receiving blankets thrown over my shoulder. The aden and anais ones are wonderful because they are large and breathable so you can easily swaddle baby in them and now they are just nice blankets to have on hand. They are also large enough to use as a makeshift nursing coverup (I just knot two ends together and place around my neck). A stylish diaper bag! I never carry a purse unless I'm going out without babe, so I wanted something that I enjoyed lugging around with me :) Swaddle sacks with velcro were a lifesaver in the beginning - so much easier to get a tight swaddle, especially in the middle of the night. A sleep sheep! Use ours every single night. I'd register for a good ear thermometer. You can't use the ear thermometer until they are 6 months old, but once they are 6 months, you'll be glad to have one! Plus, the whole family can use it (and they are a bit pricey). That's all I can think of off the top of my head!

    Have a great weekend :)
