{baby d}: thirty eight weeks

Just a friendly reminder that I am posting my weekly recaps a week behind

Feeling: there was one day this week that I was just wasn't feeling 100%. I was supposed to go for a walk with Erica and Quinn, but ended up cancelling on her and spending the afternoon laying on the couch. Luckily, I felt better the rest of the week. Starting to feel like I have to pee all of the time even though I just went.

If I am being completely honest, I went shopping for nursing bras and that was not fun at all. I've enjoyed being pregnant, but I walked out not feeling great about myself or my pregnant body.

Workouts: lots of walks with Harley still when it wasn't too cold out for it. I went for a walk with Erica and Quinn as well.

Other:
  • we put together the swing that my BIL & SIL got for us. It's strange to see it in the living room!
  • Mr.D installed the car seat into the SUV, so it's finally ready to go :)
  • we picked up the last few baby related things that we needed. Ie: a diaper pail, etc
  • enjoyed my first week off of work. Stayed busy with appointments, doing stuff around the house and visiting with friends
  • had my 38 week check up and things are still looking good with baby
  • we finished hanging up the pictures in the nursery, so it's finally complete

  4. That sucks you didn't have a great experience shopping for nursing bras. Where did you go? I had a friend have a bad experience in a maternity store in calgary too. We have a great speciality bra store here that was so amazing for nursing bras (although expensive). It was a good experience for me the week after having Liam. I'd suggest looking for bras again after your milk comes in because your boobs will change a LOT. As if they haven't changed enough, right?

I can't wait to see the finished nursery! Can't believe the little miss could come any day now!!

Also, for what it's worth, I think you look great!

  5. Shopping for nursing bras is the worst! If you have a Destination Maternity store near you, I'd suggest popping in there & they will measure you & have a lot of options. But honestly, I pretty much live in my nursing sports bras I got through the La Leche League.

  7. Sorry to hear that shopping was not a good experience. :( I think pregnancy is wonderful but it's tough because so much is out of your control. Soon enough the little lady will be here and hopefully you'll feel better about your body!!

  8. This is probably the most gigantic you'll ever feel (and be). It's weird and hard but you get a baby out of it! Yay!

  10. oh boy, it sounds like you guys are ready for the little lady to arrive :D
I found when the car seat was installed I was like ok, bring it on ha!
You look wonderful, don't let gigantic nursing bras make you feel bad. Have you gotten any nursing tank tops yet? They were amazing for me, they cover up your belly (which is a little loose for a while) while you're nursing and made me feel a lot more comfortable.

  14. Oh man, shopping for bras period is horrible! Luckily, I had a great experience at Motherhood Maternity. The staff were great and I love the nursing bras I got - which is a good thing, because almost 11 months since giving birth, I still wear them every single day! If you buy bras about a week before having the baby you will be fine in the size department. Your boob size will fluctuate a bit during the day once you're nursing but I've never felt the bras I got were too big or too small at any point in time.

Also, make sure you practice taking the carseat on and off the base! I didn't, and then when I went out for the first time without my husband, I had no idea how to get the base off! It's makes for a funny story now (I even blogged it lol), but I wanted to cry then!

  15. Wow, what a difference a couple of months makes! Its nice that you are able to take some time off before the baby comes, to prepare etc!

  16. I found some nice bras at Posh Mommy but they were pricy. I also love the Bravado nursing tanks. So comfy.

Crazy how big your belly has gotten when you compare it to your 8 week picture!! Soon she will be here!
