{ookpix}: a review and giveaway

A few weeks ago, I was scrolling through Facebook and noticed a post about a company that you can make photo books, canvases, etc with. I had never heard of this company before, so I clicked over to their website to check it out. The website is called ookpix and turns out that it is a Canadian company. All of their products are made in Canada and owned by Canadians. An even better thing about it? If you live in Calgary like I do, then you can go to their location and pick it up yourself without having to wait for it to be delivered to your mailbox.

After finding the website, I decided to take advantage of a sale that they had going on and ordered two photobooks. One of Amelia's newborn pictures and one from our Europe trip in 2013 (long overdue!!). Both books were easy to put together on their website with their already created layouts that just need you to drag and drop your pictures into. Each book comes with 20 pages standard and you can add more pages on for a small fee. The photobooks arrived a couple days later and we were both impressed with how they came out. Another awesome thing about the company? They offer free shipping on all of their products!

Ookpix offered me one of their products and after browsing their website, I decided to create another photobook for my mom as her birthday was coming up. I filled it with pictures of Amelia and Charlie from their photoshoot in April and their newborn days. It arrived less than a week later and my mom absolutely loved it!

Now, onto the good stuff! Ookpix has kindly offered to giveaway to one of my readers a 16x24 custom photo canvas ($110 value). I know that I wish I could enter as I have so many pictures that I'd love to turn into a canvas. This would also be a great idea for your summer holiday pictures that you are not sure what to do with!

Please note that this giveaway is only open to Canadian residents.

  1. I LOVE that it's Canadian and even more that we can pick it up and not wait! Good find. You know I am obsessed with photos. I would wait and make a canvas for the nursery of our maternity/family session or his newborn session!! Your books look awesome!

  2. Too funny - I'm in the process of making some books with this company as well. I love that they are local and that you can pick your stuff up right there. They offered me the use of their scanner too! So awesome.

    I'm obsessed with canvas's. Fingers crossed :)

  3. Oh sweet! I love finding Canadian companies that I can support! This one seems extra-appropriate right now, as I've just come off a week of holidays filled with great photos, and I have a new camera, so photography has become very important to me! If I happened to win, I'd probably get a canvas with a photo from our week at the camp - one of the sunset photos - to thank my aunt & uncle for letting us use their place free of charge :)

  8. I've been wanting to have one of my photos made into a canvas print for the longest time, but I've never pulled the trigger and done it. I'd live to get one of our wedding photos done. There's a big, empty wall in our bedroom that needs some kind of art on it!

  11. Perfect timing. I've been researching turning old photos into photobooks and so far have only found US companies. I want to make a "book a year" type photo book.

  13. What a great giveaway! It would be really hard to decide what photo to get put on a canvas since we take SO many photos! I would probably try and get a nice photo taken of the three of us, or I would use the photo of Sully amongst the stacks of my home library books and hang that one in my library. And I definitely need to start making photo books!
