Scenes from the weekend

Happy Monday everyone! Second to last weekend in August has gone by...where the heck did summer go?!

{friday} we woke up to pouring rain and cold weather! It was a miserable day out. In the late morning, Amelia and I headed out to meet Alison {and Delainey} and Nicole {and Audrey & Leo} for a playdate at an indoor play area. It was crazy busy in there, but Amelia loved watching all the kids. She's not quite big enough to fully enjoy it, but it was nice to get out of the house and see the girls. We headed home around noon and spent the afternoon hanging out at home. We decided to go out and grabbed Vietnamese food for dinner. The rain finally stopped after we put Amelia down, so I took Harley for a quick walk.

{saturday} after Amelia's morning nap, we went for a family 5km run. It wasn't the easiest after doing nothing for two weeks! In the afternoon when Amelia went down for her next nap, I mowed our jungle of a lawn and weeded. We didn't do much else for the rest of the day besides hang out at home and finish watching Broadchurch (didn't see that ending coming at all!).

{sunday} Mr.D and Justin brought back their bike date and took it to the next level by going to Fernie for the day and night (haha, they have the best wives ever right Alison?). They left around 7:30am, so it was just Amelia, Harley and I for the day. After Amelia's nap, we headed out to meet Alison and Delainey at Symon's Valley Market. Neither of us ended up buying anything, but we enjoyed the sunshine while Delainey went down the slide. We also returned a young boy to his parents who left him on the playground without supervision and almost seemed annoyed that we brought him back to them. It was the weirdest thing ever! After the market, I made a quick stop at Wal-Mart and then headed home to walk Harley in the sunshine. The afternoon was spent by all of us having a nap and someone waking up super grumpy from hers that she fell back asleep on me. I'm not complaining :)

Tell me: how was your weekend?

  1. Amelia is just adorable! She's getting to be so blonde! Your mini me :)
Glad you're enjoying what's left of summer!

  2. That last photo of her on the stairs it SO cute! Thanks for the 2 dates. YES they have the best wives ever for sure!! ha ha Lucky guys. Glad you had a good weekend!

  3. Sounds like a great weekend -- you guys are really good wives!! :)

Love that picture of Amelia sleeping on you, she looks so cozy and cute.

  4. Sounds like a great weekend. I love the pictures of Amelia sitting up looking rolly polly. Too cute.

  5. You mow the lawn?! lol. I think I would chop off a toe if I tried, of that is my excuse so I never have to do it.
How old was the boy? Parents that just leave their kids unattended drive me nuts!!
Love that last photo of Amelia AND yes you girls are awesome wives!

  6. Oh my gosh, that pic of her with her hand in her mouth. She is sooo cute!!

  7. Yes, you two are awesome wives!! Haha. Are kids even allowed to be in play areas unattended?! Sheesh, some parents. That picture of Amelia sitting on the stairs is so cute!

  8. Sheesh, I can not believe people left their child unattended at the playground. Phil saw something similar on a run this summer. A little boy started running with him and after awhile Phil asked him where his parents were. So the kid brought Phil to his grandparents who were 'watching him' - except he said they were at least a half mile away from where Phil initially saw the little boy, maybe even further! And the grandparents didn't seemed fazed by the situation at all! Soooo bizarre. The boy was probably 4-5 years old.

Sounds like you guys had a good weekend, besides the crappy weather on Friday (that's what we had on Saturday - yuck!)! You and Alison are excellent wives. :) We had a great weekend at the lake but the weather was so crummy so that was disappointing. I do not like this cold fall-like weather!!

  9. So fun that all of you got together! Sweet babes!! Amelia is just precious. I love her little smile!
