{amelia}: nine months

These are getting harder and harder to take!
You can find her previous updates here:

Weight/height: she had a doctor's appointment yesterday and was 18lbs 5ounces. Not sure if I believe that scale, as I take her to the community clinic monthly and she was 18lbs 12ounces on September 24th. She was 71.5cms today, which is 50th percentile for both. Either way, she is growing and healthy so that's all that matters :)

Hair/eyes: hair is still blonde and growing quite a bit. Eyes are still very blue!

  • rolling everywhere
  • babbling/screaming
  • bathtime
  • blowing spit bubbles with her mouth
  • playing with the door stops

  • getting her face cleaned
  • staying still to change her diaper
Eating: shortly after she turned 8 months old, we introduced formula at bedtime (usually mixed with breast milk). I just felt like I couldn't keep up with her to have enough at the end of the day for a bottle, so made this choice. It's so silly how guilty I felt about it and I definitely shouldn't at all! I am still nursing throughout the day and pumping once in the morning. She is still eating purees with a mix of food cut up when she refuses to be fed with a spoon.

Sleeping: still good in this department. She goes to bed at 7pm and is usually up between 4-5am for a quick feed and then up for the day between 6-7am. She is napping three times a day (usually at 9am, 1pm and 4pm) and the first two naps are usually 60-70 minutes in length.

  • in the last few days, she has started to be able to sit up on her own from laying down! She is also starting to army crawl...not far, but she can make her way to something if she really wants it
  • still wearing size 3 diapers in swaddlers/baby dry
  • clothing ranges - mostly 9 month stuff with some 12-18 month stuff mixed in (like the outfit above)

  1. Oh man she's going to be mobile soon! I've heard that's a bit of a game changer when they can start crawling around and getting into things. Her big blue eyes are the best! I bet you get so many comments on them.

  2. That is exciting that she's starting to do the army crawl! It's so cute when kids do that! She'll be crawling in no time - which makes it harder for mommy as then they can REALLY get into things. ;) She is such a beautiful baby! I just love her bright blue eyes! It's hard to believe she is 9 months, though!

  3. Cute cute cute! I had the same mixed feelings when we introduced formula for Swede at 8-9 months too, and then I quit nursing altogether around 10 months. It's hard not to let the guilt creep in but absolutely no reason to!

  4. The army crawl! And she's got some abs if she can sit up, that's awesome! Cutie for sure!

  5. Max loves doorstops too hahha
Can't wait to see you girls next week!!

  6. She's precious! And those baby blues!!! :)

  7. 9 months already!! She's so cute. I love her little black outfit. Her eyes are seriously stunning. Don't feel bad about the formula. It's not poison!

  8. Seriously she was just born! I just love her sweet face!

  9. We started doing a bottle of formula at bedtime (after I nursed) because I felt the same way. Oh my gosh, did I feel guilty!! It's funny now to think back on it.

    She's getting so big!!

Oh, and London's eyes didn't change colour until he was almost a year!

  10. She just gets cuter and cuter! And I know I say that all the time, but it's true! Her eyes are just gorgeous. And every scale is going to be a bit different, that's why I always went to the health clinic for the monthly weights for my blog posts haha! Sully always weight a lot less at the paediatricians office.

  11. 9 months!! Stop. She's so sweet. Yay for the army crawl! Love it. How is she wearing the same size diaper as D! Ha

  12. 9 months. I can't believe it. She is so sweet <3
