Catching up

Oh man, I feel like I've had no time to sit down and write a blog post. Life is just going by too quickly lately. Let's do a bullet form post today.

  • on Saturday, we went to Banff for the day as Mr.D's parents were there camping with two of our nieces. The weather wasn't the greatest, but it was nice to be in the mountains for a bit. Amelia ended up falling asleep in her stroller while we were walking around and ended up sleeping for two hours!

  • Mr.D had a bit of a lame Father's Day- he was going to go biking with Justin, but the weather still wasn't looking great in the mountains. We ended up hanging around at home that day and I got groceries in the morning. In the afternoon, my MIL and nieces came to our house as they were staying the night. We made steak, mashed potatoe cups, caesar salad and brownies for dinner.
  • our dayhome was closed on Monday, so my MIL watched Amelia for us. She had fun with her cousins all day.
  • I decided to work with Solana again and am training for the Edmonton half marathon in August. More on it later this week.

  • we went to look at three more houses last night. One was pretty perfect inside in terms of lay out and space, but it was super close to a busy road and had mismatched carpet upstairs.
  • that's all I've got for today!

  1. I love the dubious look Amelia has in 2 out of the 3 photos. House hunting now must be tough. It's just past the top of the market, and sellers are this combination of desperate to sell and reluctant to move down in price. For too many of them, their house is their retirement fund. Don't be afraid to rent for a while. For amusement, google greaterfool dot ca, it's a (mostly) housing market blog written by a former Canadian Finance minister. Some of the comments are hysterical, and I mean that in both senses of the word.

  2. So fun Amelia got to spend so much time with her cousins. That sucks about the crappy weather. I hope you guys find a house soon!

  4. Your nieces are so cute! That's great that you got to see them. Too bad that the weather wasn't nice when you were up in Banff, though. It still looks beautiful, though!

I hope you guys find a house soon!

  5. Too bad you didn't have better weather in Banff. We had a pretty lame Father's Day too. Steak & Cesar salad & brownies sounds like a great dinner though! Seriously - Three of my favorite foods right there! :-)
