Five on Friday

Happy Friday everyone! And happy Thanksgiving to my fellow Canadian friends :)

{one} I was mindlessly scrolling through FB the other night, and came across this:

I was seriously laughing so hard at some of the responses! Maybe it's because I think farts are hilarious. But here a few examples: Pitch Perfect, Gone with the Wind, etc. Come on, you know you laughed and thought about it ;)

{two} I am so excited for stuffing. Even more so that Brian's brother won't be at the dinner, so no fighting over the left overs ;)

{three} it snowed today :( Fingers crossed this stuff melts quickly and doesn't return again. Wouldn't that just be wonderful?

{four} what are you getting your kids of Christmas? I have zero ideas for Amelia especially since her birthday isn't too long after Christmas. And it's not like she NEEDS anything.

{five} have a great weekend and Thanksgiving everyone!

  1. Liam's birthday is in a week and I hardly know what to get him for that let alone for Christmas. I think for his birthday I will get him a pet fish, since he keeps asking for a pet. And for Christmas I might get him some kind of experience rather than toys. I try and follow the 'something you want, something you need, something to wear and something to read' rule.

  2. Ugh, snow! I hope it melts! It's too early for that (at least for us - we usually don't get snow until late Oct/early Nov and the last several years it's held off until December!). It's going to be sunny and fairly nice here this weekend so I am going to try to spend as much time outdoors as I can!

Happy Thanksgiving! Enjoy the stuffing! That's my favorite part! My mom always makes me my own GF one which is so sweet of her and then I don't have to share as she makes a huge thing off stuffing for the non-glutards. Although this year we are celebrating with Phil's mom so I will not get stuffing as she makes it from the box (no judgments, I know cooking isn't everyone's favorite task). But hopefully I'll get some stuffing at Christmas!

  3. I hear you on gifts. I set a small limit for the girls this year because they need nothing. Avery wants a $27 Barbie car from Santa - DONE! For Chloe I have no clue though, we have too much as it is. Maybe a new carseat?! Lol
    Have a great Thanksgiving!

    1. You laugh but that's what my niece got for her first Christmas- a convertible carseat! LOL!

  4. I'm having such a hard time wrapping my head around Christmas this year, it's not even funny. I'm totally stumped and all Isla says she wants is a "pink iPad." Not happening, sweet child of mine!

Stuffing is my far my favourite part of turkey dinner. I don't even care for the turkey itself so much, just gimmie the stuffing!!

  5. Stuffing is my favourite part too! To be perfectly honest, I could do without turkey as long as there's stuffing.

No idea what we will buy for Sully for Xmas. He doesn't ask for things and he doesn't understand who Santa is yet or what Christmas is. I would like to get him a toy kitchen though!

  6. Oh no, snow already?! I hope it melts and things warm up for a while! Yuck!

  7. I have the same challenge with the kids because their bdays are right before Christmas. I've decided to do one small present for the bdays and a little more for Christmas. (Rocking horse for Abel, Undecided for Swede). I'm trying to think what Swede really like last year since she was about the same age as Amelia is now... I think the big hit at Christmas was the "build-a-bouquet" by Green Toys.

  8. Have you seen that meme going around on Facebook about Christmas gifts for kids?? It's like "something they want, something they need, something to wear, something to read" - 4 gifts! I always thought it was the best idea ever and I'd like to do that one day with kids. I'm sure it's hard to restrain buying them more things than that though!

Stuffing is my FAVOURITE part of Thanksgiving for sure. We did the frozen butterball stuffing this year - O M G. so good.

  9. That fart game is hilarious. Reminds me of this game where you replace the last word of a movie title with "butt." So childish but rib-splitting funny.

  10. I'm the odd one that doesn't like stuffing... I'd rather fill up on other things! :)

We try to follow the "something they want, something they need, something to wear, something to read"- plus their stocking and a Santa gift. I have no idea what Santa will bring them. I have some small ideas (Paw Patrol) but again with birthdays so soon after I don't want them to get too much. Thankfully our family doesn't spoil them too much either so it doesn't get too crazy. Save your money these early years when they have no clue what's going on!
