Scenes from the weekend

A little delayed, but hey, at least I'm blogging!

On Friday, we picked Amelia up a bit early from the day home and headed to the children's hospital. She had to have some bloodwork done (everything is okay), and we had hoped that would be the best place to go. Let's just say, I'd be okay not to have to take her again for a long time! After we got her calmed down, we left and made a stop at the mall as I was looking for some shorts that actually fit. Poor girl was tired from the dayhome and the crying that she fell asleep on the way home from the mall. Luckily she still went to bed no problem that night.

On Saturday morning, we were up and out the door by 7:40am to take a roadtrip to see Brian's family who was camping over two hours away. We decided to go as we knew Amelia would love the campground and would love getting to spend time with her cousins. And we were right! For those of you in Alberta, we went to Ol MacDonald Farm which is near Stettler. They have so much to do there for kids: train rides, animals, the beach, etc.

Fast asleep not even five minutes into the drive home!

Both kids did well on the drive home- Amelia slept the entire time! We got home after 5:30pm, so decided to order a pizza as we were tired.

On Sunday, we had a quiet day around the house. In the morning, Brian took Amelia for a bike ride in the Chariot and then later on we took a quick trip to the park, but it was way too hot to do much there. Brian and Justin went for a bike ride around 5pm, so it was just the kids and I. We headed outside and ended up playing with the neighbour kids for a bit before bedtime.

Tell me: how was your weekend?

  1. I am happy we have yet to need bloodwork on the girls - they actually almost made me take C when she was 8 months but we got out of it! I can imagine it is no fun!
Glad you guys had a good day trip to Old McDonald Farm! It was a sunny day for it!

  2. Looks like a fun weekend! Where did you find that hat for Amelia?! It's adorable and I can't find any for Rylie that aren't plain old ball caps.

  3. Looks like a fun weekend! Amelia is sooo adorable! And Gabe too - Can't wait to see more from your newborn shoot.

  4. I have totally been to Old Macdonald's Farm! haha. It's such a cool place and a great place for kids. Amelia looks like she's at such a fun age. I hope it cools down for you guys, can't be too fun having a newborn in those insanely hot temperatures!

  5. Amelia looks so cute in that hat. Sounds like a fun family outing on Saturday. It's awesome that Amelia has cousins who are around the same age. It will be so fun to watch them grow up together.

Glad everything is ok with Amelia. I imagine getting blood drawn for a toddler is HORRIBLE. A friend of mine has a son with downs and he has had to get blood drawn so many times and it's just an awful experience since their veins are so small and it's tough to get them to sit still for something like that.

  6. That camp ground sounds really fun, I'll have to remember it. And it looks like Amelia had an awesome time! Yeah blood work with a toddler does not sound fun at all! Glad it's over!!
